POLYMERIC SAND

What Is Polymeric Sand?

Polymeric sand is a combination of sand, silica, and various polymers used to join pavers together. Polymeric sand was first launched in 1999 by Techniseal. When polymeric sand contacts water it forms an incredibly strong bond, and becomes rigid after drying.

Benefits of Polymeric Sand

With Polymeric Sand you can install your own pavers and flagstone without the added cost of labor. You simply brush the sand into the joints of the pavers and/or flagstone, brush/blow it off the top of the stone, and wet it down. The reaction creates a joint that hardens and holds the stones together, it will not crack during freeze-thaw cycles, and won’t allow ants or weeds to grow up through the joints.

  • Erosion resistance
  • Provides optimal joint stability
  • Seals off gaps
  • It prevents water damage
  • More aesthetically pleasing

RG+ Polymeric Sand

Rg+ polymeric sand (regular grade) is ideal for surfaces that are exposed to light vehicular traffic like small parking lots or backyard hardscaping. Sets a few minutes after adding water. It will be more flexible compared to “HP polymeric sand”.

HP Polymeric Sand

HP polymeric sand (high-performance grade) is optimal for surfaces with high humidity, sloping terrain, and heavy vehicle traffic. Even if it rains after the sand solidifies the sand may feel a bit “spongey”, but this is normal, and there is no need to worry.
